Wow. I didn't know people still read Richard Brautigan. Are his books still in print? I would think most people would think of him as a hippie casualty today. I haven't read his stuff since the 70s (Brautigan and Vonnegut were my two favorite writers when I was in high school). I remember being a big fan of Willard and His Bowling Trophies at the time (how could you go wrong with a book about venereal warts AND bowling). And I remember being very disappointed when he committed suicide. Do you remember the old paperbacks with the pictures of him and his hippie chick girlfriends hanging out, being cool? I think I still have most of them. Which one is your favorite?
well, i've only read "the abortion: an historical romance 1966". and indeed on the cover is him with a totally hot honey in a mini and gogo boots. but i love that the character lives in a library.
